PEX or copper?
PEX is flexible, freeze-resistant and requires fewer fittings and smaller wall openings, which keeps cost and drywall repair down. Copper has a long track record and is preferred in some applications. We will explain the trade-offs for your home and recommend one, not upsell one.
Main water line replacement
Older homes may still have galvanized or undersized service lines from the meter. Replacing the main improves pressure, removes a common leak source and is often required before adding a tankless water heater or more bathrooms.
You may need a repipe if
- Your home has galvanized steel or gray polybutylene pipe
- You have had more than one pinhole leak in a year
- Water is rusty or discolored when first turned on
- Pressure is weak at multiple fixtures
- You are planning a major remodel
